January 5th, 2015 – A Title Change and a Power Play
10 years ago today, Monday Night Raw was live from Corpus Christi, Texas. The show featured Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler defending against Bad News Barrett. After Ziggler scored the initial pinfall, Corporate Kane intervened, announcing the match would now be best 2 out of 3 falls. Barrett quickly evened the score and eventually secured the decisive pinfall to become a five-time Intercontinental Champion. Yeesh, we certainly don’t miss Corporate Kane or Vince not knowing what to do with Dolph Ziggler.

Also on the show, The Authority addressed the entire roster, setting the tone for their dominant presence throughout 2015.

AEW Collision Results – January 4, 2025

• AEW Collision was live from Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, NC on TNT and MAX.

• Opening: Daniel Garcia (c) defeated Mark Briscoe to retain the TNT Championship in a chess match of styles. Garcia secured victory with a jackknife pin in the final minutes of the 20-minute time limit.

• Match: Jeff Jarrett defeated Aaron Solo in a quick match, hitting The Stroke twice for the win.

• AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: Private Party (c) defeated Lio Rush & Action Andretti after interference from Top Flight, with Isiah Kassidy reversing a roll-up on Andretti to retain the titles.

• Promo: Adam Copeland vowed to dethrone Jon Moxley, declaring his intention to proudly wear the AEW World Championship. Jericho interrupted, escalating tensions, leading Copeland to call him an “asshole.”

• Match: Toni Storm defeated Deonna Purrazzo despite interference from Taya Valkyrie, using a roll-up after evading a similar attempt by Purrazzo.

• Segment: A confrontation between Hangman Page and Christopher Daniels turned violent, with Daniels attacking Hangman after being dismissed as irrelevant, shouting that he’s “The Fallen Angel.”

• Match: Brian Cage won the $100,000 High Speed Collision 4-Way Match against Komander, Dante Martin, and The Beast Mortos, pinning Martin with Weapon X to claim the prize.

• Match: Rated FTR defeated Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree in the main event. Copeland speared Bryan Keith, and FTR finished with a Shatter Machine to secure the win.

• Closing: Post-match, Jon Moxley revealed the Death Riders had kidnapped the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express to send a message. Rated FTR ran to the back, but the legends were already gone, leaving Rated FTR frustrated and outmaneuvered.
