January 10, 1994 – Monday Night Raw Celebrates One Year
31 years ago today, WWF Monday Night Raw marked its one-year anniversary with a memorable night in Richmond, Virginia. The show opened with a thrilling tag team match where the 1-2-3 Kid and Marty Jannetty defeated The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) to capture the WWF Tag Team Championship.
The episode also featured a Royal Rumble report hosted by Jim Ross, making his first Raw appearance since debuting at WrestleMania IX. Ross brought his signature energy and insight to the segment, proving himself a natural successor to Mean Gene for pay-per-view updates.
Raw concluded with a promo from The Quebecers and their manager Johnny Polo, who revealed a rematch clause was included in the contract. The two teams would face off again at an upcoming house show at Madison Square Garden.
