January 11, 1999 – Mankind Celebrates, Chyna Makes History
26 years ago today, WWF Monday Night Raw emanated from Houston, Texas, featuring several historic moments. The new WWF Champion, Mankind, celebrated his victory, but the festivities were cut short by The Rock, who challenged Mankind to a title rematch at the Royal Rumble. Mankind was also ordered to defend the championship against Kane later that night.
In the main event, Chyna made history by winning the first-ever “Corporate Royal Rumble,” earning the coveted number 30 spot in the upcoming Royal Rumble in Anaheim. This marked a groundbreaking achievement, as Chyna became the first woman to enter the Royal Rumble.

WWE SmackDown aired live from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, on USA Network.
Opening: The show kicked off with Paul Heyman in the ring, declaring Roman Reigns as the reigning Tribal Chief of WWE. He called out Cody Rhodes to demand the return of the WWE Championship. Before Cody could respond, Kevin Owens interrupted, accusing Cody of betraying WWE by aligning with Reigns. A brawl ensued, with Cody attacking Owens in the crowd. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga appeared, attacking Jim Uso until Cody returned to make the save.
