January 20th, 2002 - Shock and Awe in the Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble took place in Atlanta, Georgia, delivering unforgettable moments that still resonate today. Triple H emerged victorious in the Rumble match, eliminating Kurt Angle to claim the win. However, the most shocking elimination came when Tough Enough rookie Maven eliminated The Undertaker in what remains one of the most talked-about moments in Rumble history.

The event featured the return of two iconic stars to in-ring WWE action. Ric Flair faced off against Vince McMahon in his first WWE match since 1993, while Mr. Perfect, in his first WWE appearance since the same year, entered the Rumble match and made it to the final three before being eliminated by Triple H.

Other highlights included Trish Stratus retaining her Women’s Championship against Jazz and Chris Jericho defeating The Rock to retain the Undisputed WWF Championship. A historic night filled with surprises and unforgettable moments!
