Scott Steiner Buries WCW on Live TV

25 years ago today, WCW Nitro aired from Tulsa, Oklahoma, featuring one of the most infamous promos in wrestling history.

During the show, Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Brian Knobbs to capture the WCW Hardcore Championship, but the biggest moment of the night came when Scott Steiner grabbed a microphone and went off-script in a scathing shoot promo about Ric Flair and WCW itself.

Steiner didn’t hold back, saying, “When you walked down that aisle last week, I know I wasn’t alone, because the people at home, all they did was grab their remote, change the channel to the WWF and watch Stone Cold, a person you and your old friends got fired from here because you’re a jealous, old bastard.” He then finished with, “You belong where you’re at, in WCW, because WCW sucks, and so do you.”

Management was furious with Steiner’s unscripted remarks, suspending him for two weeks—but notably, with full pay. The promo became a symbol of WCW’s chaotic final years, as talent frustrations and backstage politics boiled over on live television.

(Holy shit! Holy shit!)

WWE

The partnership between WWE and TNA continues to develop, with an NXT Tag Team Championship match headling TNA Impact.

The Undertaker revealed how he and Shawn Michaels managed to keep Triple H’s WWE Hall of Fame induction a secret, saying, "It was such an inside job. It just reaffirms that if you want to, you can still kayfabe and keep surprise people. If you can pull the wool over Triple H in the WWE offices ... who has his hands in everything — I was proud and honored because it was him and I have so much history with him."

Following her surprise return at Royal Rumble 2025, Nikki Bella addressed speculation about her WWE future. "Because I do know there’s a lot of rumors on the internet. Is this a one-off, or is she here to stay? Well, keep tuning in, because you will see another Fearless Nikki appearance, sooner than later, that is for sure. But I’m definitely doing more than what I just did on Saturday... It will be really, really interesting to do all this. And hopefully BRIE MODE will be by my side soon. More on that to come."

Reports indicate WWE is discussing the possibility of hosting Money in the Bank 2025 in an international location in early July. "...we can confirm WWE has had discussions of hosting this year’s Money in the Bank from an international location in early July. However, our source states nothing is set at this time. Currently on the books for WWE internationally include a Saudi Arabia date in June, as well as the Clash in Paris PLE announced for August that WrestleMania broke last week."

AEW

A critical breakdown of this week's AEW Dynamite highlights the best and worst moments, covering standout matches, surprise appearances, and booking decisions.

Jeff Jarrett responded to critics questioning his pursuit of the AEW World Title, stating, "As long as you're talking about it, it's all positive!" He also reflected on lessons from veterans like Jerry Lawler and Jerry Jarrett, adding, "Lawler's entire success was built on the fact of 'quest for the gold' ... So the whole premise of his entire career, for multiple years — in a lot of ways, in his wrestling prime — was built, and he knew he was never going to be world champion."

AEW star Saraya took to social media to showcase her experience at New York Fashion Week.

Mercedes Moné has been announced for her first independent match in over a decade.
