šŸ—“ļø On This Day - 2004

Eddie Guerrero Shocks the World, Wins the WWE Championship

Great DVD Cover!

21 years ago today, Eddie Guerrero pulled off one of the most emotional upsets in WWE history, defeating Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship at No Way Out 2004 in San Francisco’s Cow Palace.

Lesnar dominated much of the match, using his size and power advantage, but when the referee was knocked down following an F-5, chaos ensued. Seizing the moment, Lesnar attempted to use the WWE Championship belt as a weapon, but before he could, Goldberg stormed the ring and delivered a Spear to Lesnar, setting up Guerrero for an opportunity of a lifetime.

As the referee regained consciousness, Guerrero countered a second F-5 into a DDT on the title belt before executing his signature Frog Splash for the win. The victory made Guerrero a Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion, cementing his legacy as one of WWE’s most beloved underdogs.

Elsewhere on the card, Eddie’s nephew Chavo Guerrero defeated Rey Mysterio to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, making it a historic night for the Guerrero family.

(Holy shit! Holy shit! This promo was incredible)
