The Rock Makes History at No Way Out

24 years ago today, WWF No Way Out took place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring a double main event that delivered one of the most brutal and historic nights in WWE history.

The night’s first marquee bout saw Triple H defeat “Stone Cold” Steve Austin 2-1 in a Three Stages of Hell match. The grueling contest featured three distinct stipulations:

  • First fall: Regular singles match (won by Austin)

  • Second fall: Street Fight (won by Triple H)

  • Third fall: Steel Cage Match (won by Triple H)

The brutal battle lasted nearly 40 minutes, solidifying Triple H and Austin’s legendary rivalry.

In the final match of the night, The Rock made history by defeating Kurt Angle to win his sixth WWF Championship, becoming the first man to reach that milestone. The win set the stage for The Rock vs. Stone Cold at WrestleMania X-Seven, one of the most iconic main events in WWE history.
