Good morning. Today we have a look back at a Doomsday Cage match (wtf), results for AEW Collision Slam Dunk Night 2, a preview of Raw from Glasglow, Scotland, a backstage report on a WrestleMania 39 match result being flipped by Vince McMahon, Saraya commenting on her current AEW status, and Cody Rhodes & CM Punk sharing a special fan moment. Hogan and Savage Survive the Doomsday Cage
29 years ago today, WCW presented Uncensored from the Tupelo Coliseum in Mississippi, headlined by one of the most chaotic matches in company history. Hulk Hogan and ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage teamed up inside a towering three-tier Doomsday Cage to take on an eight-man squad known as The Alliance to End Hulkamania. The group included Lex Luger, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, The Taskmaster, Meng, The Barbarian, Z-Gangsta, and The Ultimate Solution. The match was a bizarre spectacle that ended with Hogan and Savage emerging victorious despite the overwhelming odds.
Arn Anderson, On Hulk Hogan having creative control and why the match did nothing for Hogan and Randy Savage as babyfaces:
“Creative control to me has always been a nasty word. That night it became really relevant on how much strength and stroke and power those two words carry because that was god awful. There were people in it like Jeep Swenson who was a monster. The biggest arms I’d ever seen up until that point. You had Zeus, Barbarian, Meng, and all these guys. Two guys beat them all. That’s not making babyfaces, that’s making you want to puke. It was shitty in its design and lousy in its preparation. The whole concept made no sense, and if you think two babyfaces were made at the end of the day, then you’re not a wrestling fan. No way, no how should that have ended that way. No way, no how should that match have ever occurred. A lot of dangers. It’s a miracle you didn’t have four guys blow out their knees dropping from one cage to another. It’s a pretty good drop.
It was just surrounding Hulk with as many monsters as he could possibly defeat. I don’t Hulk even realized at the time that the audience saw through it…..and again, Ric and I were tossed in there as cannon fodder. I don’t complain about it. I showed up every day at any company I worked for and whatever they want, that’s what they get. This is not about me. But you had a couple of professionals in there, and you had more people who were disinterested than not. You had a couple of people who were completely lost. And then you had a couple of babyfaces try to take advantage of that mass confusion and somehow get over. It didn’t, and it’ll be viewed in history as the streaming shits.”

AEW Collision Results - March 23rd, 2025
AEW Collision: Slam Dunk Sunday aired from Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska, as the second half of a special two-night event. The show featured a Trios Title main event, more from Adam Cole following his TNT Title draw, and high-flying lucha action to close out the weekend.
Death Riders retain the AEW World Trios Championship. Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Wheeler Yuta successfully defended their titles against Top Flight and AR Fox. PAC hit a double low blow on Top Flight to shift momentum. Despite Fox's resistance, the Death Riders finished him off with a tombstone piledriver from PAC followed by a rocket launcher splash from Claudio and Yuta. After the match, Rush and Andretti ambushed Darius and Dante Martin, choking them with necklace chains in a brutal post-match assault.
Adam Cole vows to win the TNT Title. Cole reflected on his time-limit draw with Daniel Garcia, claiming he had Garcia beat and promising to win in their next encounter. Meanwhile, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong expressed interest in a third match with FTR.
Bandido defeats Johnny TV. Johnny TV put up a solid fight, but Bandido prevailed with his signature 21-plex to earn the win. My man Johnny TV just can’t catch a break!
AEW hypes Megan Bayne’s title shot. A video package declared AEW to be Bayne’s kingdom, followed by Toni Storm mocking her with mythological references. It was announced that Bayne will challenge Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Dynasty.
Harley Cameron defeats Aminah Belmont. After enduring some offense, Harley rallied back and secured the win with her finishing move.
Komander & Hologram defeat Dralistico & Beast Mortos. In a chaotic lucha-style tag main event, Harley Cameron left commentary and returned as “Harleygram” to flirt with Mortos. Dralistico tried to snap him out of it, but Komander dove onto LFI, and Hologram hit an airplane spin bomb. Komander followed up with a rope-walk shooting star press to get the win.

During a recent WWE Road to WrestleMania house show, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk shared a touching moment with a young fan in the crowd. After the match, both men embraced the child and posed for photos, creating a viral moment that’s being widely praised for its sincerity and connection with the WWE Universe.
I have to admit I was a bit hesitant when Punk came back to the WWE but I feel like he’s being doing some incredible work and things like this make it really seem like he’s enjoying his time back with the company!

Fightful Select reports that Edge (Adam Copeland) was originally scheduled to lose to Finn Balor at WrestleMania 39, with Copeland himself supporting the idea as he prepared to leave the company. However, Vince McMahon reportedly changed the finish the day of the show, overruling the creative plan and giving Copeland the win in their Hell in a Cell match.

In a recent interview, Saraya opened up about her current absence from AEW programming. “Yeah. I mean, I feel like at this age and time, there isn’t really a spot for me right now... Eventually… I love wrestling, I will be back at work at some point. But right now, it’s good. They don’t need me. They don’t need me," she said, showing confidence in AEW’s current roster direction.
In a fun behind-the-scenes anecdote, AEW's event chauffeur recounted the surreal moment of driving Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson to their surprise debuts at All Out 2021. The story highlights the secrecy and tension that went into one of AEW’s biggest nights, with the driver admitting he wasn’t told who he’d be transporting until the last minute.
Pulling this double surprise was amazing. Having both of them in my car on the way to the arena was wild, and then the pop in the arena…still getting goosebumps thinking about it…
