AEW Dynamite aired live from New Orleans’ Lakefront Arena, kicking off with chaos and closing with a big Owen Hart Tournament semifinal.

Master P & The Opps Celebration Turns Violent. Master P introduced the new Trios Champions, The Opps, but their celebration was interrupted by the Death Riders and Marina Shafir. Jon Moxley was choked out by Samoa Joe, and the Elite ran down, only to be blocked by the returning Kenny Omega. Swerve Strickland also arrived, with Joe declaring his intent to reclaim the AEW World Championship.

Backstage with the Patriarchy. Christian Cage took credit for Nick Wayne’s title win and dismissed his efforts, claiming he celebrated more with “Mother Wayne.” Wayne fired back before reclaiming his ROH Television Championship.

WWE News, Rumors & Updates

The wrestling world mourns the loss of Steve 'Mongo' McMichael, who passed away at 67 after a brave battle with ALS. Known for his illustrious NFL career and later his significant presence in WCW, McMichael won the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship and was part of the Four Horsemen. 'With deep sorrow, I share that Steve McMichael passed at 5:28 PM after a brave fight with ALS, surrounded by loved ones,' announced WGN reporter Jarrett Payton. McMichael's contributions to wrestling will be remembered.

🔮 Post-WrestleMania 41: Charting the Future

With WrestleMania week officially wrapped up, the wrestling world is abuzz with new champions and the formation of a potential new faction. "The Showcase of the Immortals is over", so where does WWE go from here? Jacob Fatu is poised to dominate the men's mid-card, while the feud between Jade Cargill and Naomi might be far from over. Tiffany Stratton's reign continues, and John Cena's controversial championship win leaves questions in its wake. A new Paul Heyman alliance shakes things up and keeps everyone guessing.

Jeff Cobb has sparked excitement among WWE fans as he seems set to depart from New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). The former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion took to Twitter to say his goodbyes, cryptically using WWE's catchphrase, 'Then, now, forever'. While many thought Cobb would debut at WrestleMania 41, it's still unclear when he will make his WWE entrance. Meanwhile, NJPW is bracing for departures of other major stars, including Tetsuya Naito and Bushi.

AAA isn't wasting any time. Shortly after WWE's announcement of acquiring the lucha libre company and the joint venture Worlds Collide show, AAA has dropped another bombshell — Triplemania Regia is slated for June 15 in Monterrey, Mexico, just a week after Worlds Collide. Though there's no word on the matches yet, the event is already garnering attention, thanks to its higher ticket prices. Some optimistic fans speculate that this could mean WWE superstars making an appearance.

AEW News and Rumors & Updates

AEW CEO Tony Khan hailed Sting's final match at AEW Revolution as one of his happiest moments, both in wrestling and life. He praised the team effort in creating a memorable farewell for Sting, who retired at 65 after a successful title defense with Darby Allin against the Young Bucks. 'I’m really glad that we were all able to put it together for Sting. All that came together to create, I think, a perfect night, a perfect match, and probably the greatest, happiest memory of my entire life.'

Despite an emotional retirement, Bryan Danielson remains a pivotal part of AEW's creative engine. Tony Khan confirmed in an interview on the Way of the Blade podcast that Danielson is still a 'big part of his office' and the two communicate almost daily. Danielson, although out of the ring due to injuries, is hopeful for a possible return. In the meantime, his wrestling acumen continues to positively influence AEW's trajectory.

Hip-hop legend Master P made a surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite, delivering some 'Shane McMahon-esque punches' to AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. Accompanied by Trios title winners, The Opps, Master P found himself in a heated situation with the Death Riders and The Elite. With rising tensions between Swerve and Joe, it seems we're heading towards an intense showdown at either Anarchy in the Arena or Blood & Guts.

AEW's Ricochet is on a 'feeling himself' streak in 2025, and he's not afraid to voice it. Despite recent losses, his confidence remains sky-high, reflected in a recent social media post where he lists high-flyers and bald wrestlers he believes are inferior. Among the names are AEW's Will Ospreay, WWE's Rey Mysterio and legend Steve Austin. A fan's request led to a follow-up post ranking bald wrestlers, with Ricochet placing himself above Jon Moxley and The Rock.
