Hangman & Fletcher Go Off ⛓️, Cena vs Orton One Last Time 🥊, Stephanie’s Bloodline Selfie 📸

Thursday, May 1st, 2025
Good morning. Today we look back at the moment Edge and Christian debuted the iconic Five-Second Pose — with the benefit of flash photography, of course. We’ve also got full AEW Dynamite results, news on Roman Reigns’ WWE return and Hulk Hogan’s latest project, plus Bryan Danielson’s thoughts on AEW’s locker room, a Reddit thread asking whether Cody Rhodes only communicates through old Goldust promos, and much more. Let’s dig in!
Yesterday, I put the date as Thursday, April 30th, 2025… when in fact it was Wednesday 🤦♂️ As Randy Orton would say… STUPID!

Big thanks to a fellow Dirt Sheet reader (and, breaking kayfabe, one of my best friends) for catching it 🎬🏰🎢
🗓️ On This Day in WWE - 2000
Edge & Christian Debut the Five-Second Pose

25 years ago today, on an episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE Tag Team Champions Edge and Christian stepped into the ring and delivered one of the most iconic mic lines of the era. Edge addressed the crowd, noting how over-the-top their crowd entrances had become, and instead offered something new: “For the next five seconds, we will pose for everyone here with the benefit of flash photography.” With that, the legendary Five-Second Pose was born — a perfectly absurd heel gimmick that quickly became a beloved part of their act and a defining moment of the Attitude Era.
More iconic than most finishers. More photogenic than most champs. 😎

AEW Dynamite Results (April 29th, 2025)
Full Match Results & Highlights
AEW Dynamite aired live from the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, delivering a wild night of action that blended chaotic faction wars, championship eliminators, and the next chapter in the Omega/Okada saga. Hangman Page and Kyle Fletcher tore the house down in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament main event, while Ricochet, Nick Wayne, and Toni Storm all delivered standout performances in key matches.
The Elite & Ricochet def. Kenny Omega, Kevin Knight, Mike Bailey & Mark Briscoe. In a fast-paced All-Star Game-style opener, all eight men showcased their flashiest offense and built on multiple intersecting feuds. Redneck Kung Fu, stereo suicide dives, and chaos ruled the pace until Okada drilled Briscoe with a Rainmaker after Ricochet crotched him on the top rope. The win came after nearly 25 minutes of furious tag action and a series of false finishes that teased a Briscoe upset.
Kenny Omega vs. Okada is the equivalent of Real Madrid vs. Barcelona in pro wrestling.
No matter how many times they face each other, or how many times they bleed in the ring, it will always be special and have its own unique hype.

The Hurt Syndicate attacked backstage extras during a theme song singalong. Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP made short work of a group of randos before walking off, leaving a message that no one's safe.
The Opps def. Hawkins & partners. Hobbs and Shibata ran through local talent in under a minute, ending it with a huge spinebuster. After the bell, Claudio Castagnoli hit the ring, delivering a Neutralizer on a chair while Moxley and Samoa Joe brawled on the stage. Joe called Moxley a coward and challenged him to a steel cage match at AEW Beach Break.

Toni Storm def. Miyu Yamashita. In an AEW Women’s World Title eliminator, Storm survived stiff kicks and a Death Valley Driver from Yamashita before hitting a hip attack and Storm Zero for the win. Mercedes Moné made her intentions known post-match, but Jamie Hayter returned and dropped Moné, laying claim to a future shot.
The Hurt Syndicate teased adding MJF as their fourth member. MVP and Benjamin voted yes, but Lashley gave a thumbs down and choked MJF out mid-ring after MJF taunted him as “Bob” and mocked his hairline. MJF now finds himself in Hurt Business crosshairs.
Nick Wayne def. Jay Lethal to retain the ROH World TV Championship. Christian Cage interrupted Wayne’s entrance to lend support. Lethal nearly won it with the Hail to the King and Lethal Combination, but Wayne countered a Lethal Injection and scored the pin with a fisherman’s buster. Wayne continues to rack up momentum under The Patriarchy.
Hangman Page def. Kyle Fletcher. In a blistering Owen Hart Foundation Tournament match, both men threw everything at each other across multiple commercial breaks. Fletcher spiked Page with two sheer-drop brainbusters and nearly won with a low blow and Last Ride, but Page survived and ended things with back-to-back Buckshot Lariats, including one from the top rope. Hangman advances to face Will Ospreay, with the winner getting a World title shot against Jon Moxley.
"Hangman" Adam Page is the most important wrestler in AEW history.
He's always been there, through thick and thin. He's always lived up to expectations. When he needs to elevate another wrestler, he does. When he needs to tell a story, he does.
