AEW Dynamite Results for March 5th, 2025

Wednesday, March 6th, 2025

Good morning! Today, we have AEW Dynamite results from the Revolution go-home show, a look back at a chaotic WWF Raw from 2000, John Cena setting a new Guinness World Record, a theory on who’s behind Chad Gable’s Dark Arts training, and much more!

One thing before we get started… Yesterday I posted a Reddit thread featuring a great edit of what John Cena’s heel turn would look like if it were directed by Kevin Dunn. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s well worth a watch. I also found a perfect example of a classic Kevin Dunn edit—this comment sums it up perfectly: “25 camera cuts… 25 in just 31 seconds. That’s nearly a cut every second… overkill.” Is this WWE or a Mad Max movie?

🗓️ On This Day - 2000

A Night of Disqualifications on WWF Raw

25 years ago today, WWF Monday Night Raw took place in Springfield, Massachusetts, delivering a chaotic night where four out of nine matches ended in disqualifications.

The Big Show defeated Kane by disqualification after The Rock interfered, escalating tensions between all three. Later, Kane returned the favor, interfering in a tag match between Road Dogg & X-Pac and Too Cool, costing Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty 2 Hotty the victory.

Triple H defended his WWF Championship against Rikishi, but the match ended abruptly when The Game resorted to using a steel chair to get himself disqualified. Meanwhile, Chris Jericho faced Kurt Angle, only for the match to be thrown out after Bob Backlund unexpectedly emerged from the crowd, attacking Jericho with the Crossface Chickenwing.

With multiple interferences and chaotic finishes, this episode of Raw was anything but clean, setting the stage for bigger battles to come on the road to WrestleMania 2000.

(Triple H’s entrance was so bad ass back then)

Revolution Go-Home Show

AEW Dynamite aired live from the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California, on TBS and Max, featuring a contract signing for Revolution, a hard-hitting tag team main event, and major tensions escalating before Sunday’s pay-per-view.

Swerve Strickland and Ricochet Sign Their Contract for Revolution. Ricochet and Swerve Strickland kicked off the show with a contract signing for their match at Revolution. Tensions boiled over, and Strickland shockingly stabbed Ricochet in the forehead with a pair of scissors, leaving him bleeding.

Will Ospreay, Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe & Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Bryan Keith & The Don Callis Family. The action broke down late in the match, allowing Ospreay to hit the Hidden Blade on Keith for the win. Afterward, the Callis Family brutally assaulted Ospreay, with Kyle Fletcher hitting a devastating Brainbuster through a chair.

Adam Copeland defeated Wheeler Yuta. Yuta put up a fight against Copeland, at one point locking in Cattle Mutilation, but Copeland countered with a Tiger Facebuster and hit a Spear for the win. After the match, Jon Moxley berated Yuta for losing and slapped him. Yuta fired back and walked away, leaving Moxley seething.

Hangman Page Chases Down MJF. MJF cut a promo outside, calling Hangman a coward, but Page drove up in his truck and stormed into the arena looking for him. Instead, he found an MJF lookalike. The real Friedman attacked Page from behind and nearly set him on fire with lighter fluid before referees and security stopped him.

Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford defeated Kris Statlander & Thunder Rosa. Bayne and Ford picked up a big win, with Bayne hitting Fate’s Descent on Rosa.

Jay White defeated Max Caster. Caster tried to rally the crowd behind him, but White quickly put him away with Blade Runner. After the match, White said he’d have Adam Copeland’s back at Revolution, leaving Jon Moxley all alone.

Mariah May and Toni Storm Have a Tense Sit-Down Interview. May spit in Storm’s face before begging her to reconsider their relationship. Storm coldly told May she would be forgotten after Revolution for trying to “kill God.”

Kazuchika Okada & Ricochet defeated Brody King & Swerve Strickland. In the night’s main event, Okada and Ricochet faced King and Strickland. Late in the match, Ricochet used Swerve’s own Continental Championship belt to knock him out, stealing the pinfall ahead of their match at Revolution.
