🗓️ On This Day in WWE - 2007
Edge Strikes Gold as The Deadman Falls
18 years ago today, Edge shocked the WWE Universe by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on a weakened Undertaker to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Just two days earlier, Edge had claimed the briefcase from Mr. Kennedy on Raw. On this night, following a brutal cage match between The Undertaker and Batista that ended in a draw—and a post-match beatdown by Mark Henry—Edge pounced with the ultimate opportunist move, pinning a bloodied ‘Taker to become champion once again. This segment also marked the beginning of Undertaker’s injury hiatus.

Full Match Results & Highlights
AEW Dynamite aired live from the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan, delivering a night packed with championship stakes and Double or Nothing momentum. Hangman Page and Will Ospreay set the tone with a tense face-to-face ahead of their pay-per-view clash, while MJF left destruction in his wake. In-ring action featured title defenses from Toni Storm, Kazuchika Okada, and Nick Wayne, a chaotic trios bout with The Young Bucks and Ricochet, and a hard-hitting main event between Samoa Joe and Claudio Castagnoli.
Hangman Page and Will Ospreay faced off. Page opened the show in Detroit with a reflective promo about the emotional cost of his recent actions, before announcing he’ll face Ospreay at Double or Nothing. Ospreay showed respect but made it clear he’s not stepping aside, calling the bout his ascension, not Page’s redemption. The Don Callis Family interrupted, teasing a future confrontation. Later, MJF ambushed Top Flight with brutal attacks, while Ricochet and The Elite confronted Kevin Knight and teased growing tensions with Death Riders backstage.

Toni Storm def. Thunder Rosa, Penelope Ford, and Anna Jay in a Fatal Four-Way Eliminator. The AEW Women’s Champion retained after surviving outside dives, chair shots, and Megan Bayne’s surprise interference. Ford nearly won with a Muta Lock, but Storm broke it with a low blow and locked in the Chicken Wing for the submission. Bayne brawled with Harley Cameron post-interference, leaving chaos in her wake.
Nick Wayne def. Rhyno to retain the ROH TV Title. Rhyno’s power dominated early, but a mistimed Gore allowed Wayne to counter with a Killswitch for the win. Despite the crowd’s chants, Christian Cage left without presenting the title, stirring more tension in his faction.
The Young Bucks & Ricochet def. Mike Bailey, Mark Briscoe & Swerve Strickland. In a wild trios showcase filled with big dives and high-speed sequences, Swerve caught Ricochet in mid-air for a powerslam and hit multiple House Calls, but Nicholas broke up the pin. Briscoe hit a Blockbuster and Bailey landed a moonsault, only for Matthew to steal the win with a roll-up on Swerve.

Samoa Joe def. Claudio Castagnoli. In a stiff main event, Joe survived Claudio’s power offense and a springboard uppercut to lock in the rear naked choke for the tapout. After the match, Joe laid Claudio out with a gordbuster on a chair as Moxley looked on. Powerhouse Hobbs intervened, keeping the Death Riders at bay.
