WWE WrestleMania Night 2 Results for April 20th, 2025

Monday, April 21st, 2025
Good morning. Phew — with two great nights of WrestleMania behind us, it’s time to unpack it all. Overall, I really enjoyed the weekend. As a big “Dirty” Dom fan, seeing him win the IC title was awesome! Curious to see where things go for Bron and Penta. Joe Hendry and Becky Lynch were both fantastic surprises, and even though the Heyman turn was predictable, that Triple Threat was awesome and the ending was still a ton of fun. Loved seeing Tiffany and IYO SKY retain too!
A few things I didn’t love… Gunther’s booking felt way off. He’s always been a dominant heel who didn’t need to cheat — tapping out like that just didn’t feel true to his character. That said, it was a feel-good moment for Jey. Travis Scott in the main event was brutal. Where was The Rock?

As awesome as John Cena’s heel turn was a few weeks ago the faction they were teasing never paid off. And I don’t mind Cena winning or even cheating to win, but that ending was rough. Still — it’s WrestleMania, and I’m excited to see where we go from here.

Quick note for AEW fans — not much AEW news yesterday (shocking), so today’s newsletter is WWE-focused. I’ll be back with AEW updates tomorrow. Let’s dig in!

Hogan’s Last WWF Title Win Headlines Final WWF PPV
23 years ago today, WWF Backlash 2002 took place at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, marking the final pay-per-view under the “WWF” name before the rebrand to WWE. In a chaotic main event, Hulk Hogan defeated Triple H to win the Undisputed WWF Championship—his first since 1993—thanks to interference from Chris Jericho and The Undertaker. Earlier, Taker defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin to become the No. 1 contender, though the finish was controversial: special referee Ric Flair missed Austin’s foot on the ropes during the pin.
The undercard featured a mix of rising stars and returning legends. Brock Lesnar made his dominant televised debut with a referee stoppage win over Jeff Hardy. Eddie Guerrero beat Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental Title, Jazz retained the Women’s Championship over Trish Stratus, and Tajiri captured the Cruiserweight Title from Billy Kidman with a mist-assisted victory. This event helped close the curtain on the Attitude Era and launch the next generation of WWF—soon to be WWE.

WrestleMania 41 wrapped up in Las Vegas with another packed card full of title changes, celebrity cameos, surprise appearances, and one of the most controversial main events in recent memory.
IYO SKY (c) def. Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley – WWE Women’s World Championship. In a fast-paced triple threat, IYO retained her title by hitting her signature moonsault on Belair after a chaotic closing sequence involving KOD counters and a brutal tower of doom spot.
Drew McIntyre def. Damian Priest – Sin City Street Fight. Weapons, tables, and steel steps were in play throughout the brawl. After Priest crashed through two tables outside the ring, McIntyre followed up with a Claymore into a chair for the win.
Dominik Mysterio def. Bron Breakker (c), Penta, and Finn Balor – WWE Intercontinental Championship. After chaos involving Carlito, Judgment Day, and a table-to-table spear by Breakker, Dominik stole the pin with a frog splash on Breakker to win his first Intercontinental title.
Randy Orton def. Joe Hendry. Hendry surprised the crowd as Orton’s mystery opponent. After a back-and-forth exchange and a near-fall off Hendry’s offense, Orton hit the RKO for the win, followed by a handshake — and then another RKO.

Logan Paul def. AJ Styles. Despite interference from Karrion Kross and Logan’s entourage, Paul survived AJ’s offense, hit a loaded punch, and pinned Styles with the Paulverizer after a wild clash of counters and false finishes.
Becky Lynch & Lyra Valkyria def. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez (c) – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. With Lynch revealed as Lyra’s mystery partner, the match saw heavy interference and double-teams before Becky pinned Liv with the Manhandle Slam to win the tag titles.
Steve Austin Announces Attendance. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin came out to announce a sellout of 63,226 for Night 2 and a combined two-night total of 124,693. Austin toasted the crowd with beers and gave his signature middle fingers before exiting.
John Cena def. Cody Rhodes (c) – WWE Undisputed Championship. Cena claimed his record-breaking 17th world title in controversial fashion. After referee bumps, Travis Scott interference, and repeated cheating attempts, Cena low-blowed Rhodes, used the title belt, and pinned him. Post-match, Cena and Scott celebrated while Cody sat heartbroken on the ramp.

🔮 WWE Raw Preview
Live Tonight, 8pm EST on Netflix
No matches have been officially announced for Raw tonight, but the Raw After WrestleMania is always can’t-miss TV. Expect appearances from John Cena, Gunther, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Jey Uso, and Lyra Valkyria.
Fun story — I went to the Raw After Mania in 2019 at Barclays Center. That year’s WrestleMania was the first since 2000 without The Undertaker. There was a little kid in front of me who kept telling his dad he really wanted to see him, but it didn’t seem likely. Then Elias was in the ring and said the next person to interrupt him would be “a dead man.” The gong hit. The place erupted! Only time I’ve ever seen The Undertaker live — that kid went wild, and honestly, so did I.

WWE News, Rumors & Updates
Stone Cold Steve Austin brought the house down at WrestleMania 41 with an unexpected appearance. After a dramatic entrance on his four-wheeler, Austin announced a night two attendance of 63,226, but quickly called it into question and demanded a recount. Declaring the original count “bullsht”*, Austin reported a two-night total of 124,693 – all while celebrating with his trademark beers. This surprise visit came just days after Austin's second Hall of Fame induction, this time alongside Bret Hart for their iconic WrestleMania 13 match.
The WWE Universe witnessed a thrilling twist as Becky Lynch returned to action at WrestleMania 41. Filling in for the attacked Bayley, Lynch teamed up with Lyra Valkyria to face Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women's Tag Team Titles. Despite a tough challenge, Lynch clinched victory with her signature move, the Man Handle Slam. The Man came back around on April 20, 2025, after almost a year away, marking her triumphant return with a title win.
WrestleMania 41 dropped the news: WWE Money In The Bank is back this June. The event, set to electrify the Inuit Dome in LA on June 7, will run concurrently with NXT x AAA Worlds Collide.
WWE's Slammy Awards saw Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre taking home multiple accolades, with Rhodes bagging four, including Male Superstar and Entrance of the Year. McIntyre clinched three, including Social Star and Rivalry of the Year with CM Punk. The women's tag division also shined as former Women's Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair secured Tag Team of the Year. Meanwhile, Roxanne Perez emerged as NXT Superstar of the Year. 'WrestleMania season means that WWE is giving out its annual Slammy Awards' following a match-packed season.
Wrestling fans are known for their passionate support, but sometimes, things get out of hand. From the Beach Ball Mania at SummerSlam 2017 to the infamous fan attack on Bret Hart during his Hall of Fame induction, this listicle recounts nine times fans caused major uproars at wrestling events. 'The Swiss Cyborg' Cesaro, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, and 'The Visionary' Seth Rollins are among the stars who've had to deal with overzealous fans. While some incidents are amusing, others are downright dangerous, reminding us that there's a line between fandom and fanaticism.
Get ready for a ringside seat to the creative process of WWE. Michael Cole has announced that 'WWE: Unreal', a new docuseries, will be making its debut on Netflix this summer. 'The series will take fans into the writer's room', Cole revealed. More details about the docuseries will be provided by Fightful as they become available. Keep those remote controls close, wrestling fans!
Good news for WWE fans in Australia, as the company announces its return in October. This tour will include Raw and SmackDown tapings, along with a Premium Live Event. The cherry on top? It will be John Cena's last appearance in Australia as an active performer. The news was shared during WrestleMania 41, following the recent acquisition of Mexico's AAA promotion by WWE. Details about the deal are still under wraps, but it's clear WWE is expanding its global reach.
Tiffany Stratton retained her women’s championship in a grueling match against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41. Fans speculated about Stratton losing a tooth due to a busted mouth but were relieved when she confirmed on Instagram that her pearly whites were unharmed. At the post-show press conference, she described her emotional and physical exhaustion, saying, 'I feel like I just went through the fight of my life and had my WrestleMania debut.' Despite the bruising, Stratton's reign continues.
