🗓️ On This Day in WWE - 1995

WWF Gives Away a House as In Your House Debuts

30 years ago today, WWF launched its inaugural In Your House pay-per-view live from Syracuse, New York, kicking off a new era of monthly PPV events. Designed as a more affordable, two-hour special to fill gaps between the Big Five, this debut show famously featured a real house giveaway. During the broadcast, hosts Todd Pettengill and Stephanie Wiand called Matt Pomposelli of Henderson, Nevada to inform him he had won a brand-new home in Orlando, Florida.

In the main event, Diesel retained the WWF Championship by disqualification against Sycho Sid after Tatanka interfered on Sid’s behalf. Originally scheduled to face Shawn Michaels, Diesel had to adjust plans due to Michaels’ legit injury after WrestleMania XI. Diesel himself suffered a right elbow injury during the match that required surgery. Elsewhere on the card, Bret Hart pulled double duty—defeating Hakushi but later losing to Jerry Lawler. Razor Ramon scored a 2-on-1 victory over Jeff Jarrett and The Roadie, and Owen Hart & Yokozuna successfully defended the Tag Team titles against The Smoking Gunns. Mabel also beat Adam Bomb in a King of the Ring qualifier.

WWE NXT Results - May 13th, 2025

NXT aired live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, as tensions boiled over just days ahead of Battleground. Myles Borne battled for his shot at Oba Femi’s NXT Championship, Joe Hendry and Trick Williams signed their TNA title contract, and Jordynne Grace returned to action in a fiery tag team main event.

Myles Borne addressed the NXT Universe. Borne opened the show reflecting on last week’s upset win in the interpromotional battle royal. Sharing his experience as a partially deaf wrestler, he vowed to overcome doubt again at Battleground. Ethan Page interrupted, mocking Borne’s chances and challenging him to put his title shot on the line. Ava Raine made the match official for later in the night.

Oba Femi def. Charlie Dempsey. The NXT Champion overpowered Dempsey in a hard-hitting non-title bout. Despite some brief technical control by Dempsey, Femi sealed the win with the Fall from Grace.

Wes Lee def. Tony D’Angelo. In a chaotic match featuring multiple interferences, Lee capitalized after Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo appeared on the tron revealing Adrianna Rizzo’s location. Distracted, Tony was caught with the Cardiac Kick and pinned. After the match, Lorenzo teased heading to the safehouse to confront Rizzo, prompting D’Angelo to rush from the ring in pursuit.

Stephanie Vaquer confronted Fatal Influence. Vaquer addressed Jordynne Grace becoming No. 1 contender and was soon interrupted by Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne. The tension escalated into a war of words until Grace appeared, asserting she was only here to protect her investment ahead of Battleground.

Bubba Ray Dudley and Undertaker met the LFG finalists. Tyra Mae Steele and Zena Sterling learned they’ll battle this Sunday for an NXT contract. Lash Legend warned the winner to watch their back.

Ethan Page def. Myles Borne. Page dominated early, but Borne battled back with a German suplex and nearfalls. Despite a late rally, Borne rolled up Page with a jackknife pin to retain his No. 1 contender spot for the NXT title.

Thea Hail def. Tatum Paxley by disqualification. Paxley dominated but was disqualified for gouging Thea’s eye. She continued the attack after the bell as referees pulled them apart.

Joe Hendry and Trick Williams signed the contract. In a tense conference room segment, Hendry emphasized the legacy of the TNA World Title and warned Trick this match could derail his future. Trick vowed to take Hendry’s belt, brand, and spotlight.

Tony D’Angelo was ambushed. At the safehouse, Stacks ambushed Tony with a crowbar, declaring he would finish the D’Angelo Family once and for all at Battleground.

Jordynne Grace & Stephanie Vaquer def. Fatal Influence. In the night’s main event, Grace and Vaquer withstood double-team offense and misdirection from Henley and Jayne. Grace scored the win with Beast Mode on Jacy.

Ethan Page attacked Ricky Saints. As the show ended, Page blindsided Saints backstage, laying him out near a garage door while medics rushed in.

💥 WWE RAW 5/12/2025: 3 Things We Hated And 3 Things We Loved

The episode of WWE Raw on 5/12/2025 saw some highs and lows. The Rollins/Heyman/Breakker storyline got a boost with Punk's eloquent promo, and Rusev's pre-recorded promo set the stage for his new character. However, Pat McAfee's self-centered commentary drew ire, while the premature announcement of GUNTHER as Uso's next challenger took away some suspense. The episode also left a sour taste with the mishandling of new talents Roxanne Perez and Giulia in the women's division. 'His ego has expanded and decided to make Raw about himself,' a writer noted about McAfee.

A memorable moment was a photo taken with Brian Cage, Hook, and Sabu, all former FTW Champions. "And he thought it was all awesome to do that.
