Brock Lesnar Debuts the Night After WrestleMania X8

23 years ago today, WWF Monday Night Raw took place in Montreal, Quebec, just one night after WrestleMania X8. The show is best remembered for the debut of Brock Lesnar, who stormed into a Hardcore Championship match between Maven and Al Snow. Lesnar proceeded to demolish both men before targeting Spike Dudley, delivering three brutal powerbombs that left a lasting impression on the WWE audience.

Brock Lesnar, Maven, Al Snow, and Spike Dudley being in the same ring, at the same time, during a Hardcore match feels like a game of Mad Libs!

In the main event, Hulk Hogan and The Rock teamed up for the first time ever, facing off against Scott Hall and Kevin Nash of the nWo. The match ended in a countout victory for Hogan and Rock, but the crowd erupted as the two icons stood tall just one night after their legendary clash at WrestleMania.

WWE Raw Results - March 17th, 2025

🇧🇪 Raw aired live from Forest National in Brussels, Belgium, featuring the return of heel John Cena, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes confronting him, and an Intercontinental Title main event.

John Cena goes full villain in a scathing promo. Cena berated the WWE Universe, claiming they had abused him for 25 years and that he was finally done caring about their approval. The crowd mercilessly booed as Cena declared himself retiring at the end of the year but vowed to do it on his terms. Cody Rhodes interrupted, called Cena a ‘whiny bitch,’ and warned him to bring the real Cena to WrestleMania.

In case you missed it:

Penta def. Ludwig Kaiser (No Holds Barred). A brutal match saw Penta win after a Penta Driver onto a chair. Post-match, Penta declared his intentions to go after the Intercontinental Championship.

Dakota Kai def. Ivy Nile. Chad Gable’s distraction led to Dakota hitting GTK for the win, as Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee battled The Creed Brothers at ringside.

IYO SKY and Bianca Belair’s contract signing erupts into chaos. Rhea Ripley stormed the ring, brawled with both women, and powerbombed SKY into Belair through a table. Ripley then forced Adam Pearce to add her to the WrestleMania match.

Jey Uso def. Austin Theory. Uso won with a spear, but Gunther attacked him post-match, leading to Jey stealing the Intercontinental Title and posing with it.

Latino World Order def. The Creed Brothers. Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee won after Rey’s springboard splash. Post-match, the mystery masked man struck again, laying out Mysterio and Lee with vicious suplexes.

Seth Rollins calls out CM Punk and Roman Reigns. Rollins promised he would clean up Reigns’ mess and teased showing up on SmackDown this Friday.

Bron Breakker def. Finn Balor (Intercontinental Championship). Balor fought hard, but Carlito’s interference backfired, leading to Breakker winning with a spear. Post-match, Penta saved Breakker from a beatdown and made his title intentions clear.
