Punk Honors Sabu 🙏, Evolution 2 in the Works? 📅, Hogan vs Flair Flashback 📺

Tuesday, May 13th, 2025

Good morning. Today we look back at the only televised WWE singles match between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair—an Undisputed Title bout that somehow didn’t even main event Raw in 2002. On last night’s Raw from Louisville, CM Punk confronted Paul Heyman, Becky Lynch broke bad on the mic, and IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley took down Giulia & Roxanne Perez in a standout tag match. Also inside: NXT preview for tonight, WWE Evolution 2 rumors, Mercedes Moné praises Toni Storm, Sting reflects on his AEW run, and much more. Let’s dig in!

🗓️ On This Day in WWE - 2002

Hogan and Flair Finally Collide in WWE… But Not in the Main Event?

23 years ago today, WWE Raw aired from Toronto with a surprisingly rare showdown: Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair in a No Disqualification match for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Despite the magnitude of the matchup, it wasn’t the main event of the night—Hogan retained his title mid-show after interference and chaos typical of the era. In the actual main event, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin bested Booker T in a Lumberjack Match as their rivalry continued to escalate.

Elsewhere on the card, Trish Stratus captured the WWE Women’s Championship in front of her hometown crowd. Teaming with Bubba Ray Dudley in a mixed tag-team bout, Trish pinned Jazz to win the title, while Bubba simultaneously defended his Hardcore Championship against Steven Richards in the same match.

WWE Raw Results - May 12th, 2025

WWE Raw aired live from the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, with major fallout from Backlash and escalating tensions across all divisions. CM Punk opened the show with a fiery confrontation that quickly spiraled into chaos. Meanwhile, Jey Uso addressed challengers to his World Heavyweight Title, Becky Lynch revealed her true colors, and IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley clashed with Roxanne Perez & Giulia in a thrilling tag match main event.

CM Punk confronted Paul Heyman and was ambushed by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. Punk opened the show venting about Heyman’s betrayal, only to be interrupted by Rollins and Breakker. Tensions escalated into a beatdown before Sami Zayn and Jey Uso arrived to even the odds and clear the ring with steel chairs.

Penta def. Chad Gable. In a fast-paced contest, Gable targeted Penta’s ankle and nearly won with a bridging German suplex, but Penta rallied and finished the match with a flip piledriver off the top rope.

Judgment Day regrouped after Backlash. Dominik Mysterio confronted Finn Balor over his lack of support at Backlash, but Balor brushed it off and promised to take care of AJ Styles later. The segment ended with a lighthearted jab about time zones.

Pat McAfee reflected on his loss to GUNTHER. McAfee joined commentary and admitted GUNTHER earned his respect after their hard-hitting match at Backlash, showing visible battle scars from the bout.

Creed Brothers def. War Raiders. The War Raiders dominated early, but the Creeds turned the tide with suplexes and high-impact offense. Interference from New Day helped tip the scales, allowing the Creeds to hit the Brutus Ball Device on Ivar for the win.

Jey Uso called out Logan Paul, but GUNTHER interrupted. Uso challenged Paul to face him man-to-man this Saturday, only for GUNTHER to confront him and claim he’ll eventually reclaim the title. Uso responded confidently, setting the stage for a future rematch.

Bron Breakker attacked Jey Uso backstage. Jey was found laid out by Bron Breakker after a backstage assault, prompting concern from Punk and Zayn and further fueling Saturday’s tag match.

AJ Styles def. Finn Balor. In a competitive match with interference from JD McDonagh and Carlito, Styles overcame the odds. Penta neutralized the outside threats, allowing Styles to hit the Phenomenal Forearm on Balor for the win.

Becky Lynch delivered a blistering promo. Lynch rejected the idea that she lost at Backlash, blaming fans and Lyra Valkyria for turning on her. She declared herself fully selfish and vowed to dominate the women’s division on her own terms.

Rusev vowed to continue his path of destruction. In a cryptic video package, Rusev said he was compelled to fight, even if it pains him, and warned of more brutality to come. Pearce denied Tozawa’s request until he’s cleared, but Sheamus showed support and set up a match against Grayson Waller for himself.

IYO SKY & Rhea Ripley def. Giulia & Roxanne Perez. In a hard-hitting tag match, Ripley and SKY overcame the young challengers. After back-and-forth action and near falls, Ripley hit Riptide on Giulia to secure the win. Post-match, Ripley made it clear she has her eye on SKY’s title.
