Good morning. Today we have a look back at WrestleMania IV, results from AEW Dynamite last night, and reactions to Saraya’s AEW departure. Ric Flair responds to John Cena’s Raw promo, Miro potentially coming back to AEW, Mina Shirakawa’s jump to AEW appears confirmed, and much more. Let’s dig in!

🗓️ On This Day - 1989

Macho Madness Reigns Supreme at WrestleMania IV

37 years ago today, WrestleMania IV aired from the Atlantic City Convention Hall, promoted on-air as Trump Plaza. The event centered around a 14-man tournament to crown a new Undisputed WWF World Champion after the title was vacated following the controversial Hogan vs. Andre match on The Main Event. “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase had attempted to buy the title from Hulk Hogan, and later recruited Andre The Giant to win it for him, which led to the championship being declared vacant.

The tournament concluded with ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage defeating DiBiase in the finals to capture his first WWF World Championship. Savage was accompanied by Miss Elizabeth and celebrated the victory alongside Hulk Hogan, who had helped neutralize outside interference from Andre during the final. This event marked the first WrestleMania where Hogan was not in the main event.

This leads us perfectly to our results from yesterday’s Winter Madness match-up…

AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite Results - March 26th, 2025

AEW Dynamite aired live from Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, Minnesota, with major build toward Dynasty including Kenny Omega’s triple threat preview, the Hurt Syndicate’s shifting alliances, and Megan Bayne making her mark in the women’s division.

Kenny Omega defeats Blake Christian. In the opener, Omega fended off early offense and Lee Johnson’s interference to finish Christian with the One-Winged Angel. Post-match, Omega addressed his Dynasty triple threat match, hyping “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Ricochet, who cut in from his wedding to taunt both challengers. Omega dismissed the trash talk and welcomed Bailey to AEW.

Chris Jericho demands Bandido’s mask at Dynasty. Jericho scolded Bryan Keith and Big Bill for underperforming and challenged Bandido to a title vs. mask match. He declared he wants Bandido to feel the humiliation of being unmasked.

MJF rejects MVP’s offer to join the Hurt Syndicate. MVP and MJF nearly shook hands before Bobby Lashley stepped in and tore up MJF’s business card. The segment was interrupted by Big Bill and Bryan Keith, who demanded a rematch for the tag titles. MVP dismissed them, saying they haven’t earned it.

Toni Storm and Thunder Rosa preview their uneasy alliance. Renee Paquette interviewed the tag partners ahead of their match, with Rosa making clear she’s still gunning for Storm’s title.

Kyle Fletcher defeats Brody King. After a hard-hitting match with multiple near-falls, Fletcher hit a turnbuckle brainbuster to score a major win. Post-match, the Don Callis Family attacked Brody until Powerhouse Hobbs made the save and brawled with Mark Davis.

Nick Wayne reflects on Christian Cage’s plans. Backstage, Wayne explained that things make more sense now and praised the group's execution last week.

Swerve and Hangman briefly confront each other. Renee interviewed Adam Page until Swerve Strickland interrupted. Prince Nana quickly pulled Swerve away to keep him focused on Jon Moxley.

Swerve Strickland and Jon Moxley face off. In a tense promo segment, Swerve accused Moxley of losing his edge and hiding behind the Death Riders. Moxley praised Swerve’s potential but questioned his endurance. Willow Nightingale neutralized Marina Shafir before Swerve declared he’d take the title and lead AEW into its next era.

Samoa Joe chokes out Max Caster. Joe and HOOK ran into Caster backstage and took him out with ease, slapping hands with Top Flight and AR Fox afterward.

Top Flight defeat Alex Findley & Devo Knight. Hometown heroes Darius and Dante Martin got the win with a frog splash, then exchanged words with Lio Rush and Action Andretti, who were sitting ringside.

Konosuke Takeshita defeats Mark Briscoe. In a brutal and evenly matched bout, Takeshita overcame a Jay Driller and survived several big moves before hitting the Raging Fire for the win. Don Callis celebrated with him post-match.

The Death Riders accept Rated-FTR’s challenge. Earlier in the night, in a sit-down interview, Dax Harwood apologized to Adam Copeland, while Cash Wheeler revealed his close bond with both men. They agreed to chase the Trios titles together at Dynasty. In a backstage promo, YUTA called Copeland manipulative, while PAC and Claudio mocked their unity and declared they’d make Rated-FTR suffer at Dynasty.

Hurt Syndicate tension grows. MVP defended his move to entertain MJF’s offer, saying his job doesn’t allow for days off. Lashley and Benjamin were skeptical but agreed to focus on Big Bill first.

Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford defeat Toni Storm & Thunder Rosa. After a chaotic match, Bayne hit Fate’s Descent on Storm for the pin, establishing herself as a serious threat ahead of her title match at Dynasty.

WWE News, Rumors & Updates

The young fan involved in John Cena’s Raw segment spoke to WWE.com about the moment, explaining his reaction to Cena’s new heel persona. "Since I was four years old I have been a fan of John Cena. He's been my hero for ten years now... When he pointed at me, it was a source of pride... I understood he said toxic and dysfunctional, but it's in his character as a heel, so I understand. For me, John Cena is still my hero."

Ric Flair has responded to John Cena’s claim that fans would forget the “WOO!” after WrestleMania 41. “Well, I’m just glad I’m alive after the life I’ve led to be here to hear it. But I got news for John. They’ve been trying to get rid of the ‘WOO!’ for 50 years... and the odds of him winning a seventeenth world title are astronomical.”

According to WrestleVotes, WWE expects Miro to return sometime in 2025 following his AEW exit. “I’d expect Miro before the end of the year. I know there’s interest there. I don’t know if he’s ready to sign right now. Maybe, more of a summer or fall type of thing.”

AEW News and Rumors & Updates

Ricochet missed this week’s AEW Dynamite due to his wedding with WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin. The couple tied the knot this week, and Ricochet is expected to return to AEW soon.

Saraya confirmed on the debut episode of her new podcast that her time with AEW has come to an end. "I had an amazing time there. There's no bad blood between us. I had such a magical time."

Tokyo Sports and Fightful Select report that Mina Shirakawa is finalizing a deal to join AEW. She recently lost her RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Title to Mercedes Moné at Dynasty and is expected to officially debut soon.

In a recent interview, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland made a subtle hint about possibly retiring sooner than fans expect. With only 5 years on the timetable, the comments have sparked speculation about what’s next for Swerve.
